The Intersection of Personal and Professional

With a passion for parks & recreation and professional development I've dedicated this site to exploring what it's like to be an enthusiast in your own profession. What you will find is a unique view on what its like to experience parks and recreation from behind the desk and out from under it.  

Growing up on a small beach resort in Southern Michigan shaped a love for nature and adventure early on. Glistening lakes, sun kissed days, and snow covered trails meant the world was never boring. Armed with the right gear, a pocket knife, bike, tackle box, whatever it took and there wasn't anything you couldn't conquer. 

It was only logical then when I became of age I would start my working career at the local rec center. What began as a way to make some quick cash for summer expenses turned into impactful experiences and relationships built to last. 

Anthony Iracki is an award-winning Park and Recreation professional, speaker, podcaster, and author from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Having worked in the field since the age of 16 he is passionate about community engagement, innovative programming, and equity. Alongside his commitment to his community, he is active in the growth and development of Park and Recreation professionals and agencies through volunteer work, network leadership positions, speaking engagements, podcasting, and authoring articles related to the field.
